What I Learned Today: 9.22.20

Happy first day of fall!

Usually, fall is my least favorite season. (I think spring and summer are more fun, and I like to see snow and ice in winter.) But, since I have to spend so much time inside right now anyway, I’m actually ready for fall weather.

  • If you’d like something new to do while you’re inside, Michaels has free online art and craft classes. A couple of weeks ago, I took a coloring class, which was fun.
  • An app I have been obsessed with lately is a food journaling app called Ate. The goal is to remember to log what you ate at each meal. The best way is to take a picture of your meal so that you can actually look back at the photo later, but you can also type a description. Then, the app asks simple questions such as “Why did you eat?” Each question has answer choices available, such as: “I ate because: I was hungry, or I was tired.” I really like that it doesn’t ask you to track how many calories, macronutrients, or micronutrients were in the food. Even though I think those are important to learn about, I have tried tracking calories, macronutrients, and micronutrients for a few days, and I was extremely overwhelmed. Instead, by just answering these short and simple questions, I have already noticed patterns about how I feel that I had never thought about before. The app has features you can pay for but I have only used the free features and they have been so helpful for me. The features are very simple and even fun to use, and I definitely recommend the app.

I hope you learned something today that made your life a little easier or a little more fun.

Stay amazing.

With love,

Latoinette
